Job Title: INSURANCE PAYMENT POSTER POSITION BCBS
Clinic Hours: M-F
Job Summary:
Taking care of all accounts with Blue Cross Blue Shield as their primary insurance.

Duties:
1. File all Texas and Arkansas Blue Cross Plans Claims. This involves making sure all correct information is printed on the claims before mailing them. 2. Works all above insurance denials. Must decide why a claim was denied, correct it if possible and re-file as soon as possible. 3. If a procedure is denied that we cannot collect on, maybe the procedure is bundled or global, then you must write up a request for a write off to forward to Data Department. 4. Answer phone calls from the patients or other departments. 5. File all supplement insurance claims, which involves matching the claims with the Blue Cross EOB’s and mailing them. 6. Order claims form EOB’s that don’t have a matched claim and vice versa. 7. Audits are still being performed on any accounts on the AS400, to figure the patient’s true balance. 8. Trouble shooter for AHIN and all of AR Blue Cross Blue Shield, USABLE, Health Advantage, and First Pyramid. 9. Collom & Carney’s direct contact for any denied claims or other problems that may arise with AR BCBS, USABLE, Health Advantage.

Job Summary:
Represents the clinic in a courteous, efficient and professional Manner by answering and making all necessary telephone calls, scheduling appointments for many different departments or physicians.

Duties:
. Answers all incoming calls in assigned area. 2. Answers telephone for nurse or physician if they are not available, screening calls as necessary. 3. Makes necessary outgoing calls regarding appointments or calls requested by the nurse or physician. 4. Records and gives accurate information for messages. 5. Locates physician for an emergency. 6. Schedules appointments considering the preferences of each of the physicians in the department regarding scheduled appointments and allotted times. 7. Schedules appointments for various tests. 8. Sets up new accounts. 9. Works under minimal supervision within general policies and Practices of the clinic. 10. Attends clinic and/or department meetings as scheduled. 11. Job Summary:
Under direct general supervision of Physician the Office Assistant is to assist and perform general nursing duties in the course of providing care and treatment of patients in an office and/or hospital setting. Pleasant, courteous disposition with the ability to work with patients as well as employees and physicians. Professional in conduct and appearance.

Duties:
1. Reviews patients’ medical record in preparation for office visit. 2. Prepares patient for and assists with examinations. 3. Prepares exam rooms and equipment for each patient visit. Updates/reconciles medications in patients chart EACH visit. 4. Orders and stocks supplies for exam/procedure rooms. 5. Obtains vital signs, history and chief complaint for visit. 6. Orders and obtains medications from Clinic Pharmacy. 7. Orders laboratory, radiology and outpatient procedures as directed per Physician. 8. Assists Physician/Nurse with patient examinations, pap smears, and diagnostic procedures in the office. 9. Assists patient with completing mail order forms for prescriptions as ordered per Physician. 10. Contacts insurance companies for pre-certification authorization and/or provides information to the Pre-Cert clerk. Documents in patient record. 11. Completes referral form on patients for Referral Clerk. If Referral clerk unavailable, nurse is to obtain referral authorization. Documents in patient record. 12. Receives and reports information regarding nursing home/hospital patients, i.e. requests for medication, procedures, and treatments, to Physician and returns calls to each per Physician order. 13. Contacts hospital with admitting information for patients. 14. Collects all lab, radiology and procedure reports for Physician review. Contacts patients regarding results as directed per Physician. 15. Answers telephone identifying self, records all patient information and requests. Returns phone calls in timely manner. 16. Floats to other areas as needed. 17. Inventories and properly discards outdated drug samples in the appropriate black container. 18. Washes and cleans instruments. Prepares instruments for autoclave. 19. Disposes of biohazard waste appropriately. 20. Utilizes the Electronic Medical Record following the Security guidelines outlined by Information Systems. 21. Uses universal precautions and personal protective equipment during all patient procedures and treatments. 22. Keeps work station neat and clean. 23.
